DC's Joker movie might have lost the Best Picture award to Parasite at the 92nd Academy Awards yesterday, but it seems like everyone's still gets to celebrate the gritty and dark Joker character study with new Oscar sales on the film's home release.
According to a report by ComicBook.com, retailers have Joker on an epic sale right now thanks to the film's Oscar recognition and of course, thanks to Joaquin Phoenix's Best Actor Oscar win. Right now Amazon is selling the Joker's 4K UHD Blu-Ray copy for only $19.99. That's about 33 percent off the film's usal price. The retailer is also selling the standard Blu-Ray copy of the film for $14.99, a price that's 40 percent less than what it usually offers.
Amazon isn't the only retailer giving Oscar discounts. Best Buy has a few deals too.
These deals might not seem like much, but they do help comfort fans disappointed by the film's Oscar snub, especially to those who feel like the film was more deserving of the Best Picture award than the Korean dark comedy thriller.
Of course, the film has had its fair share of attention at the Awards Circuit this year.
Joker won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor, The Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, The Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor, the BAFTA Award for Best Original Music, the BAFTA award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Actor, the BAFTA award for Best Casting and more.
Joker is available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
