Joker Dominates Golden Globe Awards Nominations

DC and Warner Bros' Joker movie has surpassed/met expectations and is currently seen as one of the best comic book adaptations out there, albeit one with some controversy. However you feel about the movie, there's no doubt that it was well-made and well-acted, which is why it has four Golden Globe nominations, which is pretty great. The fact that it's up with The Irishman in the Best Motion Picture nomination should prove its worth.

Joker has been nominated for Best Motion Picture, Best Actor (Joaquin Phoenix), Best Director (Todd Phillips), and Best Original Score (Hildur Goanadottir). It's pretty great seeing the movie get so much love from the Golden Globes and many are hoping that it continues to be showered with appreciation when Oscar season comes, even if that awards show has become less credible as the years go on.

Seriously, Green Book as Best Picture winner? What. The. Hell.

Warner Bros. is quite pleased with the success of Joker and many are hoping that similar films based on other DC villains are made. A fascinating movie based on someone like Lex Luthor would be pretty awesome to see, even if the lack of a superhero to fight them is going to annoy some. I mean, why bother setting Joker in Gotham if Batman isn't going to appear? Just put it in New York City.

Joker finished its theatrical run and will be available on digital services come December 17.
