John Wick 4: Halle Berry Confirms She Will Not Return as Sofia

The Moonfall actress confirmed on one of her press tours that Sofia, her iconic John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum character won’t be returning on any future franchise of the film. Halle Berry hints that Sofia ‘might do her own 'thingy-thing’ and get a standalone spin-off based on the movie.

Halle Berry’s Sofia made her debut on the John Wick franchise on the third installment of the film. Sofia is an ex-assassin who is in debt from John Wick that forced her to help Wick in seeking the Elder and complete their marker. Being an ex-assassin, a surprising turn of events happened when one of her dogs was shot by Barrada, the person in charge of the facility in Morocco. In this scene, we see a shoot-out together with John Wick and Sofia killing every guard who gets in their way. This memorable fight scene made Sofia an ideal partner to John Wick, the dogs in this scene deserve an award too!

The production of John Wick 4 pushed through and will be released this year of 2022 and the 5th franchise of the movie was also confirmed. Characters who are confirmed to accompany Keanu Reeves in John Wick 4 are Asia Kate Dillon, Laurence Fishburne, and Ian Mcshane. Donnie Yen is confirmed to make a debut too.

But Sofia’s status in the franchise remains unknown.

In an interview by IGN, while promoting her new adventure sci-fi movie, Halle Berry clarifies that her character Sofia won’t be in the fourth installment of the film but explained that:

"Sofia's not in the next John Wick movie. There could possibly be a Sofia...her own movie. So she might not be in John Wick, but she might be doing her own thingy-thingy."

Now, with Halle Berry confirming her departure to the John Wick universe, the John Wick franchise won’t disappoint for sure as the production for the 4th and 5th installments are already confirmed.

If Summit Entertainment pushed through the spin-off for Halle Berry’s Sofia, many fans would be totally mind blown. We’re sure Sofia will not disappoint.

John Wick 4 is rumored to hit theaters on May 27, 2022.
