Joe Russo Discusses Potential MCU Return to Direct Secret Wars Movie

Anthony Russo and Joe Russo directed some of the biggest MCU films with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. There's no doubt that they did a wonderful job helming those films and a lot of fans would like to see them return to direct another MCU film.

Speaking with ComicBook.com during the red carpet premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Joe Russo was asked if they are currently working on a Secret Wars movie. However, he played safe with his response. He said, "One of these days. We'll have to see how all this shakes out. I don't know what they're going to do with all these characters."

Afterward, Joe was asked if he and his brother Anthony are currently in discussions with Marvel Studios to direct another film for them. He was a bit hesitant to respond, but then he eventually said, "What can I say? Look, we love those guys. You know I can't say one way or the other, but I'd work with them in a heartbeat. It's the best working experience of our careers. They're like family to us and we love them, the material, and the fans."

It may take a while before we get to see a Secret Wars movie given that Marvel Studios has a lot of plans already in-store during the current phase and there's a lot of setups that they have to do if they are going to do the Secret Wars storyline in the comics.
