J.J. Abrams to Team Up with Matt Reeves For New Batman Animated HBO Max Series


HBO Max and Cartoon Network officially ordered a new DC Animated series which is titled Batman: Caped Crusader. The new series will be joining HBO Max's library of other popular DC animated shows which is currently streaming on the platform.
Some of the current shows include Young Justice, Harley Quinn, and Green Lantern. Cartoon Network also has previous DC Animated content such as The Batman, Justice League, and Justice League Beyond.

Another interesting piece of information is that the show will be produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions, Warner Bros. Animation, and 6th & Idaho. The executive producers will be The Animated Series' Bruce Timm, The Batman's Matt Reeves, and J.J. Abrams.

In a joint statement, the three executive producers expressed their excitement to work together and bring the character back. They are thrilled to share engrossing new stories in Gotham City. It will be thrilling, cinematic, and evocative of Batman's noir roots. The series will dive deeper into the psychology of the iconic characters.

Sam Register, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios President, stated that the Batman: The Animated Series was a masterpiece that has helped shape the perception of the character for an entire generation of fans. The spirit of bringing together the three master storytellers such as Matt, Bruce, and J.J. who have their own understanding and affection for the character would help in creating the same groundbreaking legacy.

Batman: Caped Crusader is a reimagination of the Batman mythology that hopes to reinvent Batman as well as his rogue's gallery.

Batman: Caped Crusader has no confirmed release date as of the moment.
