If this ain’t enough, Ed Sheeran made history as a solo artist, winning GQ’s Solo Artist of the Year in 2021 and reigning supreme for 52 weeks on the official UK Single Charts.

Jessi has also had her fame not just in South Korea but internationally. The Korean-American rapper originally debuted in 2005 and was a temporary member of the hip-hop group Uptown in 2006. Jessi came on a hiatus until she came back as a member of a trio called Lucky J which eventually disbanded in 2016.

As soon as her contract with YMC Entertainment ended, she moved to PSY’s label, P Nation in 2019 as the first signed artist. Right at that moment, Jessi received countless love calls and her career continued to be successful, with five Top 10 entries in the Gaon Digital Chart, including her highest-charting solo track “Nunu Nana.”

On the other hand, Sunmi debuted in 2007 with the JYP Entertainment girl group Wonder Girls. She left the group in 2010 to pursue an academic career for three years. In 2013, Sunmi returned as a soloist with the first EP Full Moon which spawned the number two songs “24 Hours” and “Full Moon” on the national Gaon Digital Chart.

Currently, Sunmi has made her own name in the Kpop industry and has created her own musical style called “Sunmi-pop” which refers to her core influences of retro, pop, and disco.
