Jeremy Renner Teases Prep for Hawkeye

Though it may have looked like the series was in trouble, it seems that Marvel Studios if finally moving forward with Hawkeye. Jeremy Renner is expected to come back and reprise the role of Clint Barton, and he's teasing prep for the show.

He posted this up on his Instagram stories (via MCU Direct):

Though Hawkeye doesn't have any powers, that doesn't mean that Renner is exempt from having to get in shape like the rest of his Avengers cast mates. Now that I think about it, probably only Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans have to work real hard when it comes to their bodies. We don't really get any gratuitous shirtless scenes from the likes of Tony Stark or Bruce Banner.

Despite Barton returning as the OG Hawkeye, the show is said to have Clint passing the torch to his protégé Kate Bishop. Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee) was originally eyed to play the lead, but ever since the allegations on Renner came up, I think she has since passed on the part. Either way, I'm sure Marvel will find someone else willing to take on a semi-important role in the MCU. Who knows, Kate could end up being a full-fledged Avenger by the time Marvel decides to release that movie.

The Hawkeye series is eyeing to get a release in the fall of 2021. The first Marvel miniseries, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, hits Disney+ this August.
