Idol after idol gets diagnosed with COVID-19. Another Kpop idol, Jeong Sewoon, has been reported to have tested for the virus.
On March 11, Jeong Sewoon’s agency, Starship Entertainment, announced that the solo artist was confirmed positive for COVID-19.
According to the entertainment company, Jeong Sewoon conducted a preemptive self-testing kit on March 10, and the results were positive. Due to this, he immediately went to the hospital for the PCR test, and the results came positive on March 11.
Starship Entertainment said that Jeong Sewoon had completed two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. He is not experiencing any unusual symptoms other than a mild sore throat.
Jeong Sewoon is currently complying with the health guidelines of authorities and is undergoing treatment at home.

Alongside the report, Starship Entertainment also released its official position regarding the health of Jeong Sewoon and their utmost priority in maintaining the safety of their artists.

We are informing everyone that our agency’s artist Jeong Sewoon has been confirmed positive for COVID-19 on March 11.
Jeong Sewoon preemptively used a self-diagnosis kit conducted on March 10, and the results came positive. He immediately went to the hospital to conduct a PCR testing and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on March 11.
Jeong Sewoon has completed two rounds of his COVID-19 vaccine and has no unusual symptoms except a mild sore throat. He is receiving home treatment according to the guidelines set by the government health authorities.
Jeong Sewoon will stop his scheduled activities and focus on recovery while following the health guidelines.

Meanwhile, Jeong Sewoon made his first public appearance as a contestant of Kpop Star Season 3 in 2013. He made it to the finals as a member of the duo Something with fellow Kpop Star contestant Kim Ahyeon, however, he was eliminated at the first round of the live show.
Jeong Sewoon then signed an exclusive contract with Starship Entertainment three months after the show. He later represented the agency in Produce 101 Season 2 with fellow Starship Entertainment trainee Lee Gwanghyun.
Jeong Sewoon made it to the top 20 but was eliminated during the finals. After the program concluded, Sewoon debuted as a solo artist with his first EP Ever and immediately received good feedback from the general public.
