Jason Momoa is probably one of the Hollywood actors that is constantly praised for his ripped body. He has the muscles to die for and a physique so fit it may be hard to maintain—but no, for him, it’s an easy feat. So what diet this DC superhero follows?

Just like other stars, Jason Momoa is following a consistent diet to maintain his muscle-bound body. However, contrary to everyone’s belief, he just has a casual diet—not a strict one—that includes drinking beer and eating steak. How lucky can this guy be?

The Envy-Inducing Diet of Jason Momoa

The Game of Thrones’ star’s diet is rather envy-inducing. Why? If others have to follow a strict diet to lose weight and build those muscles, not for this gigantic, 6’4” guy.

His diet is more relaxed and he reportedly even made sure he could drink a pint of his favorite drink in the world—Guinness beer, per Man of Many. Though he did a much stricter diet and training when he did Aquaman, he enjoyed lots of bread and beers when the film wrapped up.

Who cares about gaining a few pounds if you’re Jason Momoa? Not him, for sure. It may have something to do with his genetics, but he still has to maintain his body if he doesn’t want to end up like fat Thor in Avengers: Endgame.

Here’s how he does it. Believe it or not, his diet plan includes an occasional glass of beer, but it’s the only vice he allows himself when he does training.

He takes a more traditional approach when building mass and turns it into muscle by cutting out all the processed carbs and junk food from his diet. From here, he loads up on vegetables and proteins.

In fact, his personal trainer, Stuart Walton, revealed the actor’s diet is mostly composed of three things: nutrition, balance and enjoyment. Lisa Bonet’s ex mostly focuses on eating healthy foods that he already loved and enjoyed.

All Walton has to do is monitor the ratios of his carbs, fats and proteins intake to build muscle without adding fat. Aside from the veggies, the Dune star also eats fruits, peanut butter, honey sandwiches, chicken, steak and fish and takes supplements, like protein powder, mass gainer and creatine.

Maintaining the Ratios Jason Momoa Intakes

Jason Momoa’s other trainer, Damian Viera, added his client never tried to lose weight. He was already operating 15 to 18% of his body fat, so they could get their ideal 10% in two or three weeks.

To maintain this, he manages his macros ratios in the morning, afternoon, and evening to get the energy he needs to do the work without leaving any excess that can turn into stored fats overnight.

“Carbs are a very important part of the nutrition used for fuel,” Viera said, via Men’s Journal. “Jason couldn’t do something like a ketogenic diet because he needs readily charged energy from carbs to be explosive.”

The carbs he meant were “cruciferous vegetables and fruits” and not the pasta and bread many would think of.

“You can’t train the way we do with fat for fuel; you need the carbs for explosive movements,” he explained.

They will then clean the organs, from the liver to kidneys to gall bladder to intestines so that the water weight will drop and successfully achieve the “skin-to-muscle” ripped look.

“There’s no fat in what we do; it’s all a line in Jason’s performance,” Viera added.
