Jared Leto's Morbius Wants to Clash with Tobey, Andrew, and Tom's Spider-Man

Morbius is another addition to the MCU's expanding Spider-Verse, thanks to 2021's box-office hit, Spider-Man: No Way Home. No Way Home introduced the fans to the complex multiverse concept, where the mind-blowing reunion of a three-generation of Spider-Man was made possible. However, No Way Home also brought back previous villains from different Marvel franchises, which opened the possibilities of a bigger Spider-Verse.

Now, Jared Leto is set to join the MCU as Michael Morbius, a gifted scientist with a rare blood disease who accidentally infected himself with a form of vampirism while experimenting with a cure, giving himself superhuman abilities and reflexes but also cursed for a taste for human blood.

Morbius is originally a Spider-Man villain in the Marvel comics and since the film was announced, fans have wondered if Morbius will be brawling with Spider-Man, just like in the comics. But which Spider-Man?

In a recent interview with Phase Zero's Brandon Davis, Morbius star Jared Leto was asked which version of Spider-Man he would want to face off against. Leto responded:

"Well I'll tell you what, I'll take them all, my friend. I'll take 'em... I'm not scared. I'm not scared. But I have to say there's something about Tom Holland's Spider-Man, and Morbius being a new chapter in the universe, that seems quite fitting. And I would love to see them get in the ring with one another, these two characters. And I think Tom's just, you know, done a phenomenal job and he's a great actor and he just brings a lot of energy and humor to the role. That's great."

It's would be an interesting scene if we see Morbius goes face to face against any of the Spider-Man, whether it's Andrew, Tobey, or Tom, but the three of them together would totally empower the villain.

Unfortunately, Morbius is currently receiving disheartening feedback from the audience, and it may lead to disrupting Sony's plans for the anti-hero. If the film didn't succeed, it could lead to a one-and-done ordeal.

With Sony obviously crafting a bigger Spider-Verse, introducing two upcoming origin films which will include Dakota Johnson's Madame Web, and Kraven: The Hunter, Sony might find another villain to replace Morbius in the Spider-Man anti-hero lineup.

Morbius will premiere in theaters on April 1.
