James Gunn Warns Fans About Fake Suicide Squad Casting Calls

It looks like there are a lot of fake The Suicide Squad casting calls going around on the internet, so much so that James Gunn has to warn aspiring actors and actresses looking for parts to keep safe.

Taking to Twitter, the Guardians of the Galaxy director warned fans to veer away from a fake casting call being made for the film, pointing out that the advertisement doesn't even use the project's correct title.

"Not only is the title ‘Suicide Squad 2' not the title of our film, if there is EVER an extras casting notice for ANY film of mine (& most large films) that lists a real title or any actors in the film, it is almost certainly a FAKE: a scam meant to take your money. Be careful!" Gunn warned fans in his tweet.

It seems like there have been multiple casting calls being made for Gunn's The Suicide Squad movie, and most of these calls don't belong to the director's project. Actors and actresses looking for parts in the film should be careful when taking a look at these kinds of offers, noting that productions don't really use the real title of the movie or the real names of the parts that they're looking for.

For those interested though, the real title of Gunn's upcoming DC movie is The Suicide Squad, and not Suicide Squad 2 like the casting call would want to make you believe.

The Suicide Squad is set to premiere on August 6, 2021.
