James Gunn is currently one of the busiest men right now in Hollywood as he is juggling both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which is currently filming and the HBO Max series Peacemaker which is set to premiere very soon. This makes him one of the few people who is simultaneously working in both Marvel and DC.
Besides Gunn, one of the people who is working on both projects is actor Chukwudi Iwuji. In a recent interview with Collider, the director was asked about the latest update on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in which he can't help but praise Iwuji's performance in the film.
He said, "It's going great. Chukwudi, who plays Murn in Peacemaker, is one of the main characters in the movie and people are freaking out over how good this guy is. Literally freaking out. I think that I'm really happy. I gave a bunch of scenes to Marvel right before Christmas break. Kevin [Feige] went... They were all really, really, really stoked. But also, it's not going to be the movie people... It's different than what people are going to expect. It's a hard road, but I'm really happy with it so far."
Two things stood out in Gunn's response in the interview. First, he is hyping up Iwuji's performance and it hints that he will have a major presence in the film. While Gunn and Marvel haven't confirmed who he is going to play yet, there have been rumors that he is playing the High Evolutionary.
Second, he is also hinting that the third film will be "different than what people are going to expect" which probably means that the storytelling, style, or tone won't be the same as the two films. Since the plot details are still under wraps, it is hard to tell what Gunn means by that but it is a promising statement nonetheless. We should find out more details about the film leading up to the release.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be released in theaters on May 5, 2023 while Peacemaker is set to premiere with three episodes tomorrow on HBO Max.
