John Cena has always been seen by many (yes, you can see him) as just another wrestler-turned-actor guy but the multi-time WWE champion gained his biggest fan in director James Gunn after the two got the chance to work together in The Suicide Squad and the standalone Peacemaker series for HBO Max. Gunn had nothing but high praises for Cena and his work ethic and his decision to work on a spinoff show for his character says a lot about his admiration for the actor.
Speaking of Cena, he made his shocking return to professional wrestling during Sunday's WWE Money In The Bank event, and to say that social media exploded would be a damn understatement. This comes just days after Gunn confirmed that Peacemaker has wrapped filming.

On Twitter, the Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker hyped up Cena's jaw-dropping wrestling return by retweeting a post from film critic Kevin McCarthy who praised Cena on his The Suicide Squad performance. Safe to say that Gunn is also amped up for John's current WWE stint. Check it out here:
Apart from Cena's upcoming DC projects and WWE return, his latest film F9 is also performing extremely well at the box office. I've been a huge fan of Cena and have closely followed his career since his wrestling debut and I'm genuinely happy for the success he's been getting as of late. He's easily one of the hardest working guys in the industry and totally deserves every good thing coming his way.
The Suicide Squad is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on August 5, 2021. It will also be available on the same day on HBO Max.
