It’s Men vs Supermen in Final Trailer for Amazon’s The Boys

With comic book films going mainstream, it was only a matter of time before all the satire pieces started coming out. We already had Deadpool with Fox, and now Amazon is jumping in with their series called The Boys. With the show set to premiere later this week, they've dropped the final trailer for the show.

Here's the official description for the show:

Supes have been committing atrocities, which keep getting swept under the rug because they are revered by the adoring public. Billy Butcher recruits The Boys who have all been wronged by The Seven, the world's most notorious superheroes, to bring them down and stop the corruption. Based on the best-selling comics by Garth Ennis, The Boys is a revenge story where the nobodies take on the somebodies.

While the earlier trailers pretty much summed up what the series was about, we get to see this world in a little more detail. One thing that completely caught me off guard was the involvement of Simon Pegg who looks to be playing the protagonists' father.

With the series making fun of the superhero genre, you can bet that there's going to be shots fired at the big franchises—specifically the MCU. Though Batman v Superman gave us a look at some collateral damage, the Avengers films have barely scratched the surface when it comes to civilians reacting to the heroes. Heck, Spider-Man: Far from Home basically brushed away the fallout of the Snap and called the return something so trivial like "The Blip".

For now, The Boys is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on July 26.
