Following the casting of Jameela Jamil as the equally villainous and glamorous Titania in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Marvel Studios is once again adding another cast member from the hit comedy series The Good Place in William Jackson Harper. It turns out that Harper is joining Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania in a secret role.

To many, Harper's MCU casting is a dream come true as the actor has long been on the fandom's radar. In fact, the 42-year-old star is a favorite amongst the majority of MCU diehards to become part of the Fantastic Four reboot.

Basically, the idea is since Jonathan Majors is playing Kang the Conqueror in the MCU, fans believe that an actor who's a person of color should take the Reed Richards role since they're biologically related in the comics. While that makes the most logical sense, some fans aren't thrilled with the idea of Mister Fantastic potentially being racially bent in the franchise.

On Twitter, the discourse over Harper's potential role is starting to heat up as fans are divided on the idea of him being Earth-616's "Smartest Man Alive". Some are sold on it while others believe he's best suited for a different role. What do you think? Check out some of the reactions below:

It's worth mentioning though that Marvel Studios is reportedly keeping the First Family "traditional" in the MCU which means racial bending might not come into play. I'd like to think that Harper is playing a different character and the studio is conveniently taking advantage of the speculation to prevent spoilers.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania hits cinemas on February 17, 2023.
