One Piece is one of the longest-running anime to date, with a massive following. It has adventure, fantasy, action, comedy, drama, and a bit of romance in the story, but is there nudity in One Piece?

The events of the One Piece anime continue to astound viewers from all over the globe, especially now that the Wano Arc is over.

A lot of us are still watching the adventure anime due to the fun, freedom, and adrenaline-pumping action it provides, but also because of the well-written characters and villains.

Is There Nudity in One Piece?

While One Piece contains some mature themes and occasional instances of suggestive content, the nudity in the anime is not explicit.

Most of the time, the partial nudity is only played for comedy rather than overtly sexual or explicit context.

The sex and nudity in One Piece are only at a mild level. In one episode, during the Arabasta Arc, Luffy and the others are shown bathing, and their backsides are exposed to the viewers.

Another episode prior to the Straw Hats’ arrival at Arabasta shows Bon Clay morphing into Nami. He then exposes Nami’s chest to Sanji, Luffy, and the others, but it is done humorously with Nami’s backside shown in the anime.

In some cases, the animators use a veil of steam to cover female body parts.

Showing cleavage is also rampant in the anime, along with the suggestive clothing attires of women such as Boa Hancock, Nami, Robin, and even other villains like Miss Doublefinger of Baroque Works.

There are many episodes in One Piece where Nami goes naked to change her outfits, but only her backside is shown.

Some episodes also hinted directly and indirectly about violent and sexual actions such as rape, murder, and slavery, but again played for fun purposes only.

Other characters like Sanji and Brook often make perverted remarks to the girls in the series, but they get beaten up in a very funny way afterward.

So far, One Piece has no kissing or sex featured in its canon episodes. It faithfully adapts the manga, like what Eiichiro Oda would love to see in the anime.

One Piece focuses more on its engaging story, in-depth character development, intense battles, world-building, and the spirit of friendship than explicit content.

But again, One Piece does touch on some mature and sexual themes that parents need to review to determine its appropriateness for their children.

Yes, One Piece has adult content in terms of mild graphic violence and sexual, mature themes.

The anime can be bloody, and the characters often get beaten up, but it lacks the gore and explicit violence that other shows like Kengan Ashura or Baki Hanma have.

The violence in One Piece is shown in a stylized approach, similar to Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, and other shounen anime.

On the other hand, One Piece also explores themes of loss and sacrifice, which are not explicit but can be emotionally intense for viewers to handle.

It will make you cry as you see your favorite characters face difficult decisions and emotional hurdles.

The adventure anime is also not shy about including mild suggestive humor in its story, as explained above. Its humor sometimes contains sexual innuendos that are played for comedic effect.

But don’t expect that One Piece’s suggestive humor and animation will be explicit.

If you prefer to watch shows with more violence and sexual content, it’s better to pick adult-oriented anime like Devilman Crybaby, Prison School, Goblin Slayer, Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World, and more.
