Is The New Gate Manga Isekai?
The New Gate manga is an MMO isekai series based on Shinogi Kazanami's light novel of the same name.
The story begins with Shinya Kiritani, a New Gate player with a high human avatar.
The New Gate is a cutting-edge VR MMORPG game in which players can freely explore the environment before them.
One day, The New Gate became a death game, making it difficult to log out, and worse, fatalities in the game became real-life deaths. This incident motivated Shin to continue fighting in order to end the pointless game.
After defeating the last boss, Shin awoke in the real world of The New Gate, 500 years after his encounter with Gatekeeper Origin. Shin is now unable to log out, and he has lost all of his friends.
According to Tiera Lucent, an elf from the Moon Sanctum, a significant historical event known as the Dusk of Prosperity occurred, resulting in the extinction of mankind.

Is The New Gate Manga Over or Ongoing? How Many Volumes Are There?
The New Gate manga is still ongoing, and there are no signs that it will end anytime soon, which means readers will have so much more content to look forward to in the future.
The isekai manga started serializing on the official website of AlphaPolis on November 11, 2014, and has since published 14 tankobon volumes as of March 2024.
Later, One Peace Books licensed the manga series for English publication.
Likewise, AlphaPolis also ventured into publishing The New Gate manga through their Alpha Manga service.
There are currently 11 English volumes in circulation, and there’s no exact release date yet for the 12th volume.
