The Devil's Plan is a game show created by Jung Jong-yeon. You can think of it as a Physical: 100 show for really smart people.

The show features 12 participants who are faced with challenges that test their intellect. These 12 contestants have to live together in one house for an entire week and participate in two games per day.

The two contestants with the lowest pieces will be sent to prison and won't be able to join the prize match. Every contestant is up for elimination based on how they performed during the games. The last man standing gets to win 500 million KRW (a little over $350,000).

According to the show's producers, The Devil's Plan is not scripted. Viewers, however, can't help but wonder if the producers have something to do with the storylines. After all, the contestants form alliances and have to endure bribes and offers.

There is also the confessional interviews that we've come to see on almost all reality show. With this format, viewers get to peek into the minds of the contestants as they plan their moves against the other participants in the show.

Even though there are some betrayals, the contestants can't help but feel heavy-hearted. This makes viewers feel like the show is real and is not scripted in any way.

Is It The Same as The Genius?

There are some viewers who compare The Devil's Plan with another South Korean game show called The Genius. Since they have the same producer, it's easy to compare the two. They also have a similar format wherein 13 contestants are pitted against each other in a series of challenges that test their strategic thinking and social skills.

They also have garnets, which serve as the in-game currency that contestants need to collect. At the end of the show, the winner's garnets get converted into cash.

This is, however, where the similarities end. Unlike The Genius, The Devil's Plan contestants have to stay in one house and live with the other contestants.

Another difference is that the contestants in The Devil's Plan get eliminated differently. When they lose their tokens, they get eliminated. They also have the ability to trade tokens.

Lastly, The Genius does not have the jail aspect to it.
