Who Is Arthur Slugworth in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
Right on the rise of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, one of the people who worked for him happened to be a man named Arthur Slugworth.
He was the overarching antagonist that led Wonka to preserve his factory from human workers and eventually changed to using the Oompa Loompas to help him make his chocolates.
With Günter Meisner playing the character of Slugworth in the 1971 original, and Philip Philmar in the 2005 Tim Burton reimagining, some are wondering if Slugworth going to be in the 2023 Wonka prequel movie.
For a little refresher, the Wonka movie is depicting the origin story of the chocolatier's journey before he built his chocolate factory. The inclusion of Slugworth would build the long-standing rivalry between the two.

Is Slugworth in the Wonka Movie? If So, Who Plays Him?
The Wonka movie will indeed feature its very own Arthur Slugworth. In this case, the role will be played by Paterson Joseph, who was briefly seen in the movie trailers.
Joseph is known for starring as Reuben in William and Mary, Mark Grace in Casualty, the Marquis de Carabas in Neverwhere, Alan Johnson in Peep Show, Lyndon Jones in Green Wing, and Shorty in an episode of Jericho.
Considering that Slugworth's main purpose in the story is to be Willy Wonka's chocolatier rival, his appearance in the film is essential in witnessing Wonka's growth.
The official synopsis for the 2023 Wonka movie reads:
