Queen Elizabeth's doctors are worried about her health and have suggested she remain under medical observation, Buckingham Palace announced Thursday.

The palace said in a statement:

“The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

A royal insider stated that closest family members had been notified and played down rumours that the queen had fallen.

Queen Elizabeth had to cancel a virtual meeting with key ministers on Wednesday because her physicians urged her to rest.

The day prior, Queen Elizabeth was photographed selecting Liz Truss as the next prime minister at her Scottish residence, Balmoral Castle.

Truss stated that the news would cause widespread alarm throughout the nation. The newly installed U.K. Prime Minister shared:

“My thoughts — and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom — are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time."
