While appearing recently at a special screening of Home Alone in Louisville, Kentucky, Culkin addressed his potential return to the franchise in a sequel.

The actor revealed that there were attempts in the past to bring him back in a new Home Alone movie, but it did not come to fruition.

Fortunately, he is open to the idea of playing Kevin McCallister again and has ideas on how he could return as the character, but he is currently busy raising his two sons with partner Brenda Song.

Culkin has not been active in his acting career in the past several years due to fatherhood. His most recent work is a guest voice role in the animated series The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy.

However, fans will be able to see Culkin again on the screen soon as it was recently announced that he will have a recurring role in Fallout season 2. He is set to play a "crazy genius-type" character.

Is Another Home Alone Movie in the Works?

So far, Disney is not developing a new Home Alone movie as part of their future movie slate.

However, they recently made a reboot titled Home Sweet Home Alone which premiered on Disney+ in 2021. However, it received negative reviews from fans and critics.

While the film is not a direct sequel to the original Home Alone, it featured a cameo appearance from Kevin's brother Buzz (with Devin Ratray reprising the role).

For now, fans should look out for news and updates regarding another plan to develop another Home Alone movie.
