Jonathan Majors has been firing on all cylinders with his acting career but all the momentum he had came crashing down following reports of his shocking misconduct. On Saturday, the 33-year-old star was arrested in New York for allegedly assaulting a woman who was later identified as his girlfriend.

As per TMZ, the police responded to a call for service from the alleged victim on March 25th near the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. The woman in question had visible injuries, including a laceration behind the ear, as well as redness and marks on her face. Thankfully, she was immediately taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition.

As for Majors, cops took the actor to jail following the incident but he was later released without bail. The Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star's representatives insist that "he's done nothing wrong" and are out to clear his name.

Naturally, the controversy spread like wildfire across several news outlets and many were appalled to learn about the actor's scandal. Now, what does this mean for his acting career? We all know that Majors is poised for a huge role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Multiverse Saga's big bad Kang the Conqueror. However, given Disney's history of dealing with such controversies, from James Gunn's 2018 firing to Gina Carano's unceremonious ousting, it looks like Jonathan's tenure in the billion-dollar franchise might end prematurely.

Majors' scandal comes as a huge shocker to everyone, especially considering how he's always been seen by his fans and contemporaries as someone who carries a lot of grace and composure in him. Of course, many are hopeful that the allegations turn out to be false but in the event it gets proven, I think we can safely say that he'll be on his way out of the MCU and other projects for that matter.
