Is Henry Cavill Officially Out as Superman?

Henry Cavill's status as the DCEU's Superman has admittedly been murky lately and seems that the best way to describe his position is that he can't return as Superman yet because WB has no current plans to bring the character back to the big screen. Oddly enough, BossLogic has posted up some ominous art that could mean that Cavill is officially done.

Check it out:

Though BossLogic is best known for fanart and not inside scoops, he was the first source that said that Robert Pattinson was being considered for Batman months before it was officially announced. So maybe he does know something about Cavill's position in the DCEU.

Until something is officially announced, we'll just have to take this with a grain of salt.

Personally, I don't want to see Cavill go, and neither do a lot of DC fans. A lot of people agree that the Superman movies haven't been perfect, but Cavill was definitely the right man for the job. With the right director and script, Cavill's Superman has the potential to be the very best iteration—we just need WB to get it all together.

For now, we don't have any idea where Superman will appear next. His appearance in Shazam! was definitely a nice surprise, but Cavill wasn't free enough to reprise the role. With films like Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984, Suicide Squad 2, and The Batman down the line, fans are having their fingers crossed that WB will find a way to bring back Cavill's Man of Steel soon.

The next DC movie to come out is Joker and it hits theaters Oct. 4.
