Redmayne recently received Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award nominations for his performance in the first season.
"If there’s one thing that the Jackal can’t stand, it’s a loose end. So we will see you soon for Season 2," the actor said in the video message announcing his return.
There were initial speculations that the series might just be a limited one-off run, but it became a massive hit when it premiered on Peacock in the US and Sky in the UK this fall which led to the decision to do another season.
