Dandadan Season 1 just debuted on October 3, 2024, but it has already shaken up the anime scene. The series is dominating Netflix’s ratings and solidifying its place as one of the standout titles of the year.
With each episode, this hit rom-com supernatural thriller keeps fans buzzing with excitement, leaving them eagerly awaiting what’s next. Naturally, many are wondering: has Dandadan been renewed for a second season?
Will Dandadan Return for Season 2?
All we know so far is that unconfirmed leaks suggest Dandadan Season 2 is already in the works and rumored to be released next year. The leak is said to come from “reliable sources,” but Science SARU, the studio behind the anime, has yet to give an official statement.
That said, given its success, the idea of a second season arriving soon isn’t entirely out of the question.
Dandadan is known for its memorable characters and the wild, chaotic shenanigans they find themselves in. From Okarun and Momo’s frantic chase with a larger-than-life Turbo Granny crab to their bizarre encounter with a giant mantis shrimp controlled by creepy humanoid aliens, there’s never a dull moment.
Even before the show blew up, the announcement that Yukinobu Tatsu’s masterpiece would be translated into an anime adaptation was already an online sensation. It goes without saying that fans love Dandadan for its quirky charm and fast-paced blend of supernatural and sci-fi elements.

What's Left in Store for Okarun and the Gang in Season 1?
After the emotional roller coaster of Dandadan episode 7, which revealed Acrobat Silky’s tragic backstory, we were treated to the reawakening of the yokai’s power in the latest episode.
Joining Okarun and Momo is Aira, the pseudo-main heroine, who finds herself in another strange situation with the mechanical extraterrestrials, the Serponians. Based on the latest preview images, we’re expecting an action-packed episode, with Aira using her newly acquired Acrobat Silky powers to help Okarun and Momo battle the relentless aliens.
There may be another new addition to the group later in the season. In the opening sequence of Dandadan, we spot a guy who hasn’t been introduced yet. It’s safe to assume he’ll be just as intriguing as the rest of the characters. We’re excited to see how the rest of the season plays out.
