Is the Cheat Skill in Another World Anime Based on a Light Novel or Manga?
Cheat Skill in Another World or I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too is based on a light novel written by Miku and illustrated by Rein Kuwashima.
The series was first published under the titled Level Up wa Jinsei o Kaeta (Level Up Changes My Life) on the Kakuyomu website on March 25, 2017.
Later, it was taken over by Fujimi Shobo, who started publishing the work with illustrations by Rein Kuwashima on December 20, 2018.
The Japanese version of the light novel is published under the imprint – Fujimi Fantasia Bunko. The series has gone on to publish 13 volumes.
Following the success of the light novel, a spin-off novel titled I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too: Girls Side started publication on December 20, 2022.
The light novel came first, followed by the manga, and then by the anime series.
Is the Cheat Skill in Another World Light Novel Finished?
The Cheat Skill in Another World light novel series is currently ongoing.
The first volume of the light novel came out on December 20, 2018, and since then 13 volumes have hit the shelves. The last volume released on March 17, 2023.
In September 2021, Yen Press confirmed that they will be releasing the English publication of the novel. As of writing two volumes of the light novel in English are out.
The third volume is slated to release on August 22, 2023. Currently, the chances of the Cheat Skill in Another World light novel series ending are next to none.
Is the Cheat Skill in Another World Manga Finished or Ongoing?
Similar to the light novel series, the Cheat Skill in Another World manga is currently ongoing.
The Cheat Skill in Another World light novel series got a manga adaptation on December 13, 2019. So far, four tankobon volumes have been out.
Meanwhile, Yen Press has licensed the English version of the manga, and the third volume is slated to release on April 18, 2023.
The manga follows the same storyline as the light novel. Cheat Skill in Another World anime is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
Elsewhere, Muse Communication has acquired the rights to distribute the anime in select Asian regions.
