On the flip side, others think that the BL elements of the show are just an interpretation from fans and not something official.

The Black Butler anime is easily one of the most popular shows of the late 2000s, and a big part of its appeal is the story and the relationship between Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis.
In the series’ story, Ciel enters a contract with a demon to help save him against cultists. In exchange, the demon will consume Ciel’s soul once they are able to get revenge on the ones who killed Ciel’s parents.
This demon is named by Ciel as Sebastian, and the story follows the two as they investigate all sorts of supernatural cases.
Ciel and Sebastian are an interesting duo. After all, Ciel may seem like the one in control, but as a demon, Sebastian is incredibly powerful, not to mention that his eventual goal is to consume Ciel’s soul.
Aside from their unique dynamic, some fans think there are some BL elements in the Black Butler story, even though there is no official romance between the two.

Is Black Butler a BL Anime? Exploring the Series’ Genre
On the Black Butler manga’s official page on the Yen Press website, the series is listed in many genres, including crime, historical fiction, mystery, action, and adventure.
Both the manga and anime aren’t classified as BL series, so officially, it’s inaccurate to put Black Butler in the BL genre.
Despite this, the series’ style and trappings no doubt appeal to BL genre fans. Moreover, the series has a lot of fan-made works that are definitely in BL territory.

How Long Will the Black Butler: Public School Arc Be?
It has taken some time, but the Black Butler anime finally returned recently with the Public School Arc. This new season’s first episode is out now, and new episodes will be released every week on Crunchyroll.
Sadly, it won’t be a long season as the Public School Arc will only have 11 episodes. This is no surprise given that the arc is not that long in the manga.
