The title of a "Beastar" is given to those animals which are proven worthy through their excellence in the pursuit of justice and equality in the community and those bestowed the honor of the title are known for their great service, talent, and notoriety.

Beastars has been a critically acclaimed anime for the social commentaries tackled within the anime series making it more than the typical show with animals as characters. The show has receiver multiple awards and because of that, it is no surprise that it has been given a second season because of the commendable story and the popularity it has gained since the inception of the series.

Beastars is currently in its second season and it will be having a total of 12 episodes all in all.

The anime series is based on a shōnen manga of the same name by Paru Itagaki. It is the first work of Itagaki to get published in the Weekly Shonen Champion.

The manga is already finished and as confirmed by Itagaki stating in January last year that the end is in sight, the manga series came to an end in issue no. 45 of the Weekly Shonen Champion after its four-year stint.

The final chapters of Beastars functioned as a perfect epilogue which whapped up all the arcs of the characters and what they went on in the future.

But as the saying goes, when a door closes, a window opens -- Beastars manga series found a window in an upcoming work of Itagaki, the Beast Complex.

The Beast Complex will be a mini-series to Beastars and will be published in the Weekly Shonen Champion. Originally, the Beast Complex was a seven-chapter series where every chapter will be focusing on a different set of relationships between animals commonly one herbivore and one carnivore.

Some chapters will also feature some minor characters in Beastars. Most of the other chapters would zero in on the other animals living within the Beastars universe.

The Beast Complex will be releasing its first six chapters in a collection on March 16, 2021, through Viz Media. As for Beastars anime, the second season of the critically acclaimed series will be released in bulk via Netflix in July 2021.
