Marvel Studios has yet to cast Marc Spector in the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight. However, that hasn't stopped fans from trying to fancast some of their favorites to play the Marvel character. Interestingly, Oliver Jackson-Cohen is one of the actors whose name has been somehow connected to the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe show. Now the star of The Invisible Man has decided to address the possibility of joining the MCU.
Jackson-Cohen recently spoke to ET Online to promote his upcoming film with Elisabeth Moss and he was asked if he was aware that he was being fancast in Moon Knight. Not surprisingly, the Haunting of Bly Manor actor admitted he was flattered by the fans' determination although he is not familiar with the comic book character.
"I have heard this, yes! I don't understand what a Moon Knight is," Jackson-Cohen said with a laugh. "Every single time I open Instagram, it's like, 'MOON KNIGHT!' And I'm like, 'This is so great and thank you, but I don't know what it is!'"
But has Marvel Studios actually offered the role to Jackson-Cohen? Sadly, that hasn't happened yet but he expressed his interest in joining the MCU.
"No one's called me... I would love to be a Marvel superhero. That would be a dream," Jackson-Cohen confessed. "Tell all of your viewers to go and stand outside Marvel headquarters!"
We're not sure if Marvel Studios is already thinking about the casting but Jackson-Cohen seems like a great candidate to play Moon Knight. After all, he's already proven that he can handle action scenes easily in Faster. In addition to that, he showed off an amazing versatility in The Haunting of Hill House. For now, we'll have to wait until Marvel makes it official.
Marvel's Moon Knight series has not yet been given an official release date. In the meantime, you can catch Jackson-Cohen in The Invisible Man, which hits theaters on February 28.
