Pedro Pascal has voiced his support for Sabrina Carpenter following her show-stopping performance of “Tears” at the 2025 MTV VMAs.
Carpenter didn’t just feature trans women and well-known drag performers during her act; she also delivered a powerful acceptance speech upon winning the Best Album award, giving a huge shoutout to the LGBTQ+ community.
As a vocal advocate and ally of the community, Pascal has backed Carpenter’s bold message in support of trans rights.
How Did Pedro Pascal Support Sabrina Carpenter?

Carpenter made the USB Arena roar with her iconic performance of Tears, which doubled as a powerful statement for trans rights.
Joined on stage by members of the LGBTQ+ movement, alongside renowned queer icons such as Denali, Willam, Symone, Laganja Estranja, Lexi Love, Dashaun Wesley, and Honey Balenciaga, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter transformed the stage into an empowering celebration of the community.
The performers even held signs reading “In Trans We Trust,” “Protect Trans Rights,” and “Dolls, Dolls, Dolls” during Carpenter’s rain-soaked performance, inspired by Britney Spears’ iconic tour visuals.
She also gave a heartfelt shoutout to the group during her acceptance speech.
“To my queens: This world, as we all know, can be so full of criticism, discrimination, and negativity. So to get to be part of something that can bring you light, make you smile, make you dance, and make you feel like the world is yours… I’m so grateful. So grateful to do that,” she said.
To show his support, Pedro Pascal posted a snap of Carpenter’s performance on his Instagram Story.
“Again… [crown emoji],” he wrote, tagging Carpenter herself.
What Did Pedro Pascal Say About the LGBTQ+ Community?

Pascal has long been an outspoken supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. The group has been closed to his heart, especially after his sibling, Lux Pascal, came out as a trans woman in 2021.
In March, he addressed the challenges the community has been facing and expressed his outrage at people “terrorizing” them.
“I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
In April, he wore Conner Ives’ “Protect the Dolls” statement T-shirt at the UK premiere of Thunderbolts. All proceeds from the shirt are donated to Trans Lifeline, a “trans-led US-based charity that delivers life-saving services to those who need them most.”
The Fantastic Four star was also one of over 100 celebrities who signed an open letter urging the federal government to preserve funding for LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention programs after they were threatened with elimination.
After the dismantling of the LGBTQ+ support branch of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, he shared crucial resources from The Trevor Project to support those in need.
With all that he does for the community, it’s no surprise that Pascal is widely admired today.
