One of the more comedic isekai shows for Summer 2021's lineup is Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy, also known as Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu. It seems to be a fairly well-received show so far, with a current score of 7.47 on MyAnimeList. It follows the story of Makoto Misumi, a high school student who gets transported to a magical world—supposedly as a hero.

This doesn't exactly happen since the goddess of that world thought he was ugly and stripped him of his "hero" title. He gets banished to the wastelands where numerous non-human creatures are. Thanks to Tsukuyomi, the god who transported him, Makoto has been granted strong magical abilities. So even though he's been banished to the edge of a fantasy world, at least he's got pretty amazing powers.

Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy is a fantasy light novel series illustrated by Mitsuaki Matsumoto and written by Kei Azumi. Its online serialization began in 2012 under Shōsetsuka ni Narō, then it eventually moved to AlphaPolis' website in 2016. Under the same website, a manga adaptation by Kotora Kino began serialization in 2015.

The anime adaptation by C2C premiered last July 7, 2021. The series is being directed by Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail), while the script and series composition are by Kenta Ihara (Full Dive: The Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life!). Makoto is voiced by Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro in Demon Slayer). Akari Kitō (Nezuko in Demon Slayer) and Ayane Sakura (Uraraka in My Hero Academia) join the main cast as Mio and Tomoe, respectively.

Episode 4 is set to air this week. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series as part of their Summer 2021 lineup. With that being said, how many episodes will Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy have?
