How Many Episodes Will Season 1 of Sakugan Have?

Sakugan is currently one of the anime titles that are airing this Fall 2021 season, and it's definitely worth checking out (even if you aren't an avid mecha fan!).

Sakugan combines mecha and science-fiction with a wholesome family element, seeing as the main characters of the story are father and daughter. It follows the adventures of Gagumber, a single dad, and Memenpu, a 9-year-old genius. Humans now live in a world located underground called the Labyrinth, and the settlements are called Colonies. One of the most dangerous jobs one can have in this world is a Marker — someone who explores the remaining unknown areas of the Labyrinth in an attempt to map them. Memenpu's curious mind can't help but want to become a Marker, so Gagumber eventually agrees to go with her.

Sakugan is an anime adaptation of the novel Sakugan Labyrinth Marker by Nekotarō Inui. The novel won runner-up in the Science-Fiction/Robot category of Project Anima in 2018, which was a collaboration between three various companies involved in the field of technology and media. Satelight is handling the animation. Some of their works include the early episodes of Fairy Tail, and Caligula.

Junichi Wada is in charge of directing and the series composition. Toshizou Nemoto, Mariko Mochizuki, and Nagai Shingo are in charge of the script. Tatsuya Kato makes the music. Some of the cast includes Kanon Amane as Memenpu, Hiroki Touchi (Hunter x Hunter 1999) as Gagumber, Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Yuri!!! On Ice) as Yuri, and Kana Hanazawa (Steins;Gate) as Zackletu.

How Many Episodes Will Season 1 of Sakugan Have?

According to the Blu-ray information on the official website of the series, the first season of Sakugan will have a total of 12 episodes.

Sakugan is available on Crunchyroll for streaming, both with English subtitles and in the English dub. They are simulcasting the series and releasing the new episodes weekly, every Thursday.
