House of the Dragon Gets SNL Parody Featuring Classic Dave Chappelle Characters

There is little doubt that House of the Dragon has become one of the biggest new shows, and it's certainly big enough to get its own Saturday Night Live parody. The latest episode of the comedy series featured its hilarious take on the Game of Thrones prequel and amazingly, it introduces some new members of House Velaryon who are played by Dave Chappelle's classic characters.

Dave Chappelle was the host of the latest episode of SNL and just like everybody else, the comedian admitted that he has been watching House of the Dragon. However, he also pointed out that the diversity of the cast has been very distracting for him. Chappelle then unveiled a clip from "House of the Dragon Season 2" that put the focus on new characters (via Twitter).

The skit features Kenan Thompson as Corlys Velaryon who introduces Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen to his other family members. Interestingly, the new characters are actually Chappelle's Silky Johnson and Donnell Rawlings' Beautiful from The Playa Hater's Ball. In addition to that, Tyrone Biggums gets a comeback and an awesome interaction with a dragon. Finally, Chappelle's iconic Rick James is also confirmed to be a Velaryon.

Although we loved the idea of seeing Chappelle's finest acts as Velaryons, there's another hilarious cameo in the skit. Rapper Ice-T shows up as "Larry Targaryen" in the House of the Dragon parody.

It's not the House of the Dragon Season 2 clip that we were hoping for, but it's still a great parody that had us rolling in laughter. Needless to say, we can't wait to meet more Velaryons in the second season.

House of the Dragon Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. However, the series is already set to return sometime in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
