Things are really heating up in House of the Dragon as Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower put on their game faces to seize the Iron Throne. Although we did get a glimpse of the two women making power plays in this week's episode, it looks like the tension is at an all-time high in the exciting new teaser for House of the Dragon Episode 7.
The House of the Dragon Episode 7 teaser reveals the aftermath of Laena Velaryon's death, showing a mysterious tradition practiced by the Valyrian House of Velaryon. It's a somber event that brings all the Targaryens together but it looks like things aren't going well between everyone.
Although the huge extended family are together, they are in no way united. At one point, a fight appears to break out between the princess and the queen, prompting Alicent to grab King Viserys' dagger and prepare to attack Rhaenyra. That's when the princess says that everyone can now see her for who Alicent truly is.
There is a lot to unpack in the House of the Dragon Episode 7 teaser. For instance, Otto Hightower is back and it looks like he will return as the Hand of the King. In addition to that, Larys Strong makes an appearance just being all slimy and conniving.
Perhaps the most interesting thing in the teaser has to do with the biggest star of the show. At one point, Daemon Targaryen's daughters wake someone up to tell them that someone has stolen Vhagar, Laena's dragon. Although the thief is not revealed, it has already been teased in the previous trailers.
The latest episode of House of the Dragon is now available on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 7 is titled Driftmark and is set to premiere on HBO on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST.
