There is no question that Hayden Christensen marked his own pedestal the minute he showed up as a Force Ghost in the original Star Wars trilogy. He made his first long-awaited return to the franchise as Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth Vader, in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and his name and figure echoed throughout fans as a prominently beloved character.
Christensen later reprised his role as both a Force Ghost and in a Clone Wars-era flashback, with the finale of Ahsoka setting the stage for Anakin to play a much bigger role on Peridia once the series returns with season 2. But will Anakin's story stop there?
Industry insider Daniel Richtman recently revealed that Christensen is set for at least two more Star Wars projects as Anakin. As for identifying which projects those may be, it remains to be seen.
While there are a couple of small-screen shows and a Rey-led project and a new trilogy in Lucasfilm's slate, none have confirmed whether Anakin makes an appearance in them or not. For now, Anakin's larger role in Ahsoka season 2 is to guide Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren across Peridea.
Why Anakin Skywalker Continues to Be Crucial in the Galaxy Far, Far Away

Even decades after the prequel trilogy concluded, Anakin Skywalker remains the ultimate narrative anchor of the Star Wars franchise.
One of the major reasons why that is that Lucasfilm's creative plans are led by Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni, who persistently relies on the Chosen One plotline that would continue to bridge and birth generational storylines.
Another reason is that Anakin is the thread that ties the prequels, originals, and new streaming shows altogether, whether through flashbacks, hologram forms, or physical form.
Let's not forget that even Christensen himself has openly expressed that he would love to continue returning if it means it would complete the story: "I would love to get to do more, and I'd love to get to continue with Star Wars, and we'll see. I don't know what the future holds, and if such an opportunity presents itself, I'll be there with a big smile on my face."
So, it comes as no surprise to fans who have long theorized that Anakin is there to stay and keep being visible in the franchise for as long as the story of the galaxy far, far away continues.
For now, Ahsoka season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2027. Stay tuned!
