It's no secret to a lot of people that Hayden Christensen's involvement in the Star Wars prequel trilogy wasn't received well by the fandom, at least initially. When the actor debuted as an older version of Anakin Skywalker in 2002's Attack of the Clones, many believed that Christensen's performance left very little to be desired and the criticisms would continue until Revenge of the Sith.

Now, the question on a lot of people’s minds is: is Hayden’s Star Wars return just a one-time deal or could we expect to see him in more projects moving forward? Well, the Darth Vader actor recently offered an update regarding his true status. Apart from appearing in Obi-Wan Kenobi, the 41-year-old actor is also expected to be involved in the standalone Ahsoka series but his future in the franchise remains a mystery.

Speaking with Total Film (via ComicBook), Christensen said: "The extent of this journey, I think, remains to be seen." He added: "But what a privilege to get to come back and do this, and to be a part of this project."

We don't know for sure what the future holds but it would be safe to assume that Hayden signed a lucrative deal with Lucasfilm. The same thing can be said about McGregor and for all we know, they could up popping up in several more projects down the line. I mean, it's a huge win for Star Wars fans.

The first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi will begin streaming on May 27th, exclusively on Disney+.
