Hawkeye Star Shares Details About Echo Spin-Off Series

People are already excited to see Clint Barton again in the Hawkeye series. After all, the new Disney+ show will also introduce his protege Kate Bishop as well as new heroine Maya Lopez aka Echo.

It has also been confirmed that the hearing impaired Maya is getting her own show that will be released after the premiere of Hawkeye although there haven't been a lot of updates on the spin-off. Luckily, Alaqua Cox has shared some interesting new details about Echo.

Last December, Cox was one of the new cast members confirmed for Hawkeye. It was then announced in March that Maya will be getting her own series which will be executive produced by Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen.

So what else do we know about Echo? Cox has posted a casting call for new characters in her Instagram stories and it could confirm that the spin-off will be mostly done in ASL.

The casting call for "Jessica" and "Iris" are very specific, indicating that both characters will be either Native American or Latinx. Additionally, they are expected to be deaf like Maya and the actors are required to be fluent in ASL.

The interesting thing about the casting call is that it confirms that the dialogue for the audition will also be in ASL. Moreover, filming for Echo will start in February next year.

It will still be a long wait for Echo but fans will get to see Maya in action in Hawkeye soon. The series will also star Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld and is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
