Hawkeye: New Trailer Teases an Action-Packed Holiday Adventure

Last month, we were finally given a first glimpse at the upcoming MCU series Hawkeye, which will mark the first solo outing of original Avenger Clint Barton/Hawkeye as well as the introduction of fan-favorite character Kate Bishop. Now, Marvel Studios has released a new one-minute trailer of the series which gave us an extended look at what looks like an action-packed holiday adventure for the two arrow-slinging heroes.

Accompanied with the classic Christmas song "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," the new trailer gave us an extended look at Clint and Kate's holiday-themed adventure where it seems like they are facing a number of goons who are trying to take them down for some reason. It also showed us more scenes from Rogers: The Musical, a Broadway show about Steve Rogers, where we see that Clint is watching in the audience. You can watch the minute-long trailer here:

The new trailer also confirmed the return of Linda Cardellini as Laura Barton, Clint's wife, who previously appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Endgame. During Disney's Investors Day presentation last year, Cardellini was notably absent when the cast of the series was announced. She also didn't appear in the first trailer which left fans wondering about the fate of the character. Fortunately, her appearance in the series has now been officially confirmed and it looks like she remains to be Clint's wife.

Each MCU series so far has tackled different genres. WandaVision was a half-sitcom, half-typical MCU adventure. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier geared toward more on the buddy cop genre. Loki was a mix of crime thriller and science fiction. Hawkeye seems to be more of a holiday-action comedy in the vein of Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. After all, they are marketing it as a six-part holiday event. We can call it Marvel's Christmas present for us.

The series just looks promising based on the trailer and it seems like it will be yet again another entertaining MCU series. It will also mark the debut of Kate Bishop in the MCU, who has been teased to have a larger presence in the franchise moving forward.
