Hawkeye Directors Hype Up MCU Show's Christmas Story

If you've seen the teasers for Hawkeye, it's pretty obvious that the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series is set during the holidays. Not surprisingly, Bert and Bertie say that's the reason why it's so different from anything else in the MCU. The show's directors are hyping up how this Christmas story is going to make Hawkeye one of the most memorable Marvel projects ever.

The premise of Hawkeye is pretty simple: Clint Barton needs to defeat some former enemies he made when he was still Ronin. However, he's on a schedule as he needs to get rid of these villains and reunite with his family in time for Christmas. Enter Kate Bishop, who is ready to help and will be making her MCU debut in the series.

Bert, whose real name is Amber Templemore-Finlayson, spoke to GamesRadar about the new show and she pointed out that the premise of Hawkeye makes it stand out from the rest of the MCU.

"It's genuinely not what you expect from Marvel," Bert said. "It's an absurd Christmas story. Just starting from that point, tonally, I was tickled. What does that mean? And it's throughout the whole series. It's not what you're expecting it to be."

Judging from the trailers, Hawkeye looks like an awesome mash-up of Die Hard and Home Alone, which also happen to be Christmas movies. The show certainly looks like loads of fun and we will even get to see Lucky the Pizza Dog in action. We trust that Bert knows what she is talking about and can't wait to see what they had done for the series later this month.

Hawkeye will star Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d'Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox. The new show will consist of six new episodes starting with a two-hour premiere on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
