J.K. Rowling had made history with her Harry Potter books, and though she's busy writing the Fantastic Beasts movies, she is going to be releasing a new fantasy book once again aimed at kids.

Rowling had officially announced on her website that she'll be releasing a book called The Ickabog which she had worked on while she was writing Harry Potter. The original intent was to publish it after Deathly Hallows, but it had ended up hidden away so that Rowling could work on other projects.

Here's how she described it:

The Ickabog is a story about truth and the abuse of power. To forestall one obvious question: the idea came to me well over a decade ago, so it isn't intended to be read as a response to anything that's happening in the world right now. The themes are timeless and could apply to any era or any country.

Take note that The Ickabog won't be a Harry Potter spinoff and will be in its own world. We don't really know what Rowling has in store for it, but I imagine it's going to be a nice, light story, since the book is meant to be read-aloud for children ages 7–9.

For now, Rowling is planning on releasing chapters of the novel online from May 26–July 10 with an intention to publish a full book later in the year. We don't have a specific release date yet, but I'm sure people want to see what else Rowling can write outside the world of Harry Potter.
