Park Seo-Joon and Han So-Hee may have taken the spotlight in Netflix's newest series Gyeongseong Creature, but lurking in the shadows is a man named Ryu Sachimoto aka the 'burdened artist.' So, who is Sachimoto and who plays the artist from Gyeongseong Creature?

Where You've Seen Woo Ji-Hyun Before

Before we get into Woo Ji-Hyun's role in Gyeongseong Creature, here are a few drama series and movies where you may have seen the actor before.

Woo Ji-Hyun has previously appeared in the likes of Dr. Romantic 3 as Mr. Jeon, in the 2021 drama Mouse as Koo Dong-Koo, and in SKY Castle as Jeon Jin-Man.

The actor has also starred in smaller roles in movies such as Room No. 7 as the cafe manager, in The Witness as a newspaper delivery guy, and even in The Inseparable Bros as An-Nyeong.

Woo Ji-Hyun's First Netflix Starring Role

You might be surprised to know that Woo Ji-Hyun was one of the few high school survivors in one of the most popular Netflix K-drama series, All of Us Are Dead.

Woo Ji-Hyun played the starring role of Kim U-Sin, who did not exist in the original webtoon of the same name until the series came to life.

Considering that he managed to make it until the end of the series, there's a chance we'll be seeing him reprise his role in All of Us Are Dead Season 2.

Sachimoto the 'Burdened Artist' of Gyeongseong Creature

Gyeongseong Creature tells the story of the fateful encounter between Park Seo-Joon's Jang Tae-Sang and Han So-Hee's Yoon Chae-Ok trying to solve the mystery behind the existence of monsters.

Woo Ji-Hyun happens to play, what fans called, the 'burdened artist' named Ryu Sachimoto, whose first appearance in Episode 1 showcased his life's work dedicated to drawing real-life figures.

Before the first episode ended, Sachimoto was called down to 'take a closer look' at a particularly shady-looking prison cell where blood marks were painted across the wall. Unbeknownst to him, there was a dark secret being kept underground, which he was obligated to make a picture of.
