Gwyneth Paltrow Seemingly Grows Tired of MCU, Would Only Return Under One Condition

A lot of fans don't talk much about this interesting detail about Gwyneth Paltrow's Marvel tenure but the Hollywood star has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for close to 13 years now, which is longer than any other female character. Sure, she wasn't featured that heavily in the films except for the Iron Man trilogy and she also seems to be inactive these days but she's still pretty much one of the pioneers of the billion-dollar franchise.

Now, considering the fact that her character Pepper Potts finally donned her Rescue suit in Avengers: Endgame, one would assume that her MCU journey has only just begun and she could end up taking over for her late husband Tony Stark or even mentoring the next Iron Man. Apparently, that's not the case as Gwyneth has made it clear that she's semi-retired from the franchise, despite the fact that the story could still potentially involve her and their daughter Morgan.

That's not to say though that the actress isn't willing to reprise her role as Pepper should Marvel Studios need her. However, Paltrow already has reservations about possibly coming back to the MCU. During a recent appearance on the People TV Show, Paltrow revealed that she'd still be down to appear in Marvel projects but the grueling schedule doesn't interest her anymore.

She explains: "I think if it was a small part that I could do in like a day or two, I would of course be open to that."

It's pretty evident that Gwyneth is seemingly growing tired of her Marvel routine and quite frankly, being tied up to a multiple-picture contract can absolutely take a toll on the actors and it's understandable how Paltrow wants to take things a little easier now. And it's not like there's still anything left for her to prove but you know, it would still be cool to see Pepper Potts in the franchise post-Tony Stark's death. Let's see what happens next.

Speaking of Iron Man, Don Cheadle's Armor Wars is in active development.
