Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Promo Footage Teases Nebula's New Ability

The conclusion to James Gunn’s epic MCU trilogy is set to arrive next month. The new promotional footage for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 showed that one of the characters gained a major upgrade, which was first teased in the Holiday Special last year.

Karen Gillan retweeted the video with the caption, "New arm, who dis?" as her Nebula was shown utilizing her new arm, which was given to her by Rocket Raccoon during the Christmas special. Her new vibranium upgrade, which was previously owned by Bucky, was spotted being used as a blaster attachment.

Nebula's enhanced arm is one of the new things in the final installment. The antihero will continue her emotional journey, as stated by Gillan in an interview: “We're starting to see Nebula after the death of the source of her trauma: Thanos, So he has been eliminated from the story, and now we're starting to see her character become a little bit of the person maybe she should have been had that not happened to her.”

Given the new footage, fans are convinced that Among Us isn't the only video game that will have a significant influence on the film. There are now speculations that Capcom's Mega-Man will also be featured.

Mega-Man and Nebula are both blue robots with cannon rifles on their left arms, and the Guardians of the Galaxy flicks frequently make references to the 1980s. Mega-Man was launched in 1987, seven years after Pac-Man, which was mentioned in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The threequel is Gunn’s last contribution to the MCU, and once it premieres, fans will see if this will end some of the Guardian's story arcs, including Nebula’s. It has been long hinted that Rocket will not be able to survive after the third film.

Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord) also downplayed GotG Vol. 3's ability to kill off its heroes yet that death in the MCU is reversible. “Even if I die in this, there's a way to bring me back. If you're talking about, like, practically, can Peter Quill come back? The answer will always be yes.” he said.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opens in cinemas on May 5, 2023.
