Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Karen Gillan Teases Nebula's Arc Post-Thanos

Nebula has always been more of a supporting character in Guardians of the Galaxy, but she had one of the more meaningful arcs when it came to Avengers: Endgame. What's interesting is, Karen Gillan is teasing that Nebula's story has only just begun.

Talking to Fandom, Gillan comments:

"I don't feel like [Nebula's] story is over at all. If anything, I feel like her story might just be beginning. We found her in a really broken, vulnerable place and over the course of the movies, she's had to face the source of all of her abuse. She's just had this huge, cathartic experience and the source of the abuse has been eliminated, so what happens next? That's something that I think is incredibly interesting. The healing can start but that's not going to be easy and it's not going to be immediate either."

When it comes to preparing for the character in Vol. 3, Gillian explains that she's going to study a lot of psychological essays when it comes to overcoming abuse. With Nebula usually being the punching bag of characters like Thanos, it's going to be interesting to delve into her psyche now that Thanos is out of the picture.

For now, James Gunn is still busy working on The Suicide Squad, but afterward, he's going to go straight back to work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The film is suspected to come out in 2023, but the good news is, the Guardians will be making an appearance in 2021's Thor movie.

Catch the Guardians when Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters Nov. 4, 2021.
