Last year, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special was released on Disney+ to huge success, becoming an instant Christmas classic for many MCU fans who adored the franchise's first holiday-themed special presentation.
Months later, it was followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which was deemed the conclusion of the cosmic team's MCU trilogy and it was also well-received by fans and critics just like the holiday special.
So far, Marvel Studios has not laid out any plans for any future Guardians of the Galaxy projects or whether they will release more special presentations on Disney+ with the success of the format so far.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Took Home Four Emmy Awards
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special took home multiple trophies at the recently held 2nd Children’s & Family Emmy Awards as it won in four categories including Outstanding Fiction Special.
The Disney+ special defeated other nominees in the top category such as Chang Can Dunk and Prom Pact (both from Disney as well). As a result, James Gunn Kevin Feige, and the other credited executive producers are now Emmy winners.
The other categories that the special won during the ceremony are Outstanding Costume Design/Styling, Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup, and Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Live Action Program.
Gunn celebrated the special's multiple Emmys win in his recent post on Threads.
"We won an Emmy. Thanks!" he wrote in his caption and then it was followed by, "Oh wait. FOUR Emmys."
The animated short series I Am Groot also took home two trophies as it won in the categories Outstanding Short Form Program and Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing (for an Animated Program).
A few weeks ago, Ms. Marvel won the juried award Outstanding Motion Design at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, adding another trophy to the MCU's accolades.
This is wonderful news for the people involved in both projects since their hard work was rewarded by the most prestigious television award and it is evidence of their behind-the-scenes excellence in making sure that they are producing quality entertainment that the audience will like.
