Grid is the newest Kdrama airing exclusively on Disney+. Grid premiered on February 16 and immediately received huge attention from the general public.
The series stars Seo Kang Joon, Lee Si Young, Kim Ah Joong, Kim Sung Kyun, and Kim Moo Yu and will tackle the mystery of time traveling and how the Earth will remain.
Here is what happened in Grid Episode 1 and what viewers can expect in Episode 2.
Grid Episode 1 Recap
Grid Episode 1 sees a phenomenon that was about to affect the Earth. A solar flare from the sun is seen preparing to crash into the planet, which endangers the existence of humanity. While the flare gets nearer, the communication in many regions gets interrupted.
At the same time, an institution tries to activate the Grid, a shield created with artificially expanded magnetic fields with the specific purpose of protecting the Earth.
Soon after the Grid was successfully activated, an officer from the institution went back to her office. She seems to have known the phenomenon will happen as she utters, “she was right.”
The timeline then goes forward to October 31, 2021, wherein Kim Saeha gets inside a convenience store to purchase garbage bags. After a few seconds, a man arrives at the counter to cater to his needs.
As soon as he returned to his car, he saw a drop of blood on the garbage bag. He acknowledged his suspicion about the man and hurried back into the convenience store only to discover the convenience store’s owner covered in his own blood inside the office room.
Soon after, the police came to investigate the case. Saeha was questioned, and it appears that he has lip-reading skills as he easily identified what the store owner said to the suspect as they watched the CCTV footage. A woman named Jung Saebyeok is among the police and is dedicated to catching the culprit.
On the other hand, Saeha returns to his home. As soon as his mother's caregiver left, he continued to do the chores and settled inside the room to practice assembling a gun.
A news report captures his attention, and it turns out that the police failed to arrest the assailant even though he was right under their noses. The following day, Saeha arrives at work and begins searching for a specific person online, which seems to be the main task of their department.
While browsing, he stumbles upon a report from Jung Saebyeok during the failed operation. In her report, Saebyeok confirms that her team was dispatched to arrest the suspect, Kim Manok.
Even after being cornered by the officers, the culprit managed to escape when he discovered a rope heading to the rooftop. He hid under a truck and watched the officers run past him.
Saebyeok finds him, but when she is about to handcuff him, a mysterious lady appears, allowing Manok to escape. After a few interactions, the woman disappears before Saebeyok’s eyes like thin air.
Thankfully, Saebyeok found a strand of hair from the lady's cap. Back at the police department, Saebyeok tries to create a sketch identifying the alleged female accomplice.
Grid Episode 2 Release Date
Grid Episode 2 will be released on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. The new Disney+ series releases new episodes every Wednesday. International fans and viewers can stream the imminent series on the platform with English subtitles.
Grid Episode 2 Preview And Spoilers
Grid Episode 2 may reveal Saeha’s team’s mission and why they are looking for a certain female who seems to have been disappeared in thin air.
The previous episode sees Saeha in shock after seeing the sketch made by Saebyeok, and it might give his team some progress with the search.
At the same time, curiosity arises on how Saebyeok will locate Kim Manok and the mystery lady. It should be assumed that from Grid Episode 2, more interactions between Saeha and Saebyeok will arise as they might help each other with their own missions.
