She made her directorial debut in 2008 through the short film The Madonna, which stars Seo Hyun Jin, Kim Myung Soo, and Jeon Tae Soo.
The film scored Spotlight Award at The 12th Short Shorts and Audience Award at Busan ISFF.
She continues to direct and produce short films which include Magic and You released in 2010, Fragments of Sweet Memories in 2012 and MYSTERY PINK in 2018.

The 37-year-old beauty recently bagged an award after competing at the International Short Film Festival.
Goo Hye Sun’s Dark Yellow Won at the 24th Short Shorts Film Festival 2022
Goo Hye Sun’s entry Dark Yellow won the Audience Award for the Asian Competition category at the 24th Short Shorts Film Festival 2022, an Academy Awards-accredited festival, honoring Asian short films.
Interestingly, she revealed on her Instagram that the entire prize for the award was donated to her alma mater.
"I received the 'Audience Award' prize at the 24th International Short Shorts Film Festival," Goo Hye Sun’s Instagram caption reads, adding "When I heard the news that there were students who couldn't get their education due to the economic hardship, I donated to my alma mater, Sungkyunkwan University's 'Senior Love Learning Support Fund, Senior Shoots Campaign."
The actress-director is currently taking up a course under the university's Department of Imaging.
