Girls’ Generation’s Yuri will lead a new original variety series for Disney+ Korea, along with Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Kwang Soo. With the many projects the 32-year-old idol is doing as of late, will a Girls’ Generation comeback be one of those?

Disney+ Korea recently announced a new line-up of shows for its Asia-Pacific viewers. With the success of Outrun by Running, will a new Yuri, Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Kwang Soo series do the same?

The New Disney+ Korea Series Featuring Girls’ Generation’s Yuri

According to AllKpop, the said new project has a working title, The Zone: Endure to Survive. The new mystery variety show only has one rule: “Survive, no matter what.”

The series will feature new missions that the cast members have to do. No one knows what this mission is and they will only learn what they will do next when they enter a virtual reality space through a secret door.

So, no matter what welcomes Yuri, Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Kwang Soo inside that place, they have to “endure and survive.” This new series is reportedly spearheaded by Jo Hyo Jin, who is also behind Family Outing and X-Man.

It also includes the crime action show Casino with Choi Min Sik, Heo Sung Tae and Kim Joo Ryung and the much-awaited tvN noir dramas series Big Mouse with Lee Jong Suk and YoonA will also be seen here.

Yuri Hints at Girls’ Generation’s Comeback

Meanwhile, it has been five years since the original eight members of Girls’ Generation worked together. As they entered an indefinite hiatus, would a comeback soon happen?

In an interview with Yuri in January, she told Star News, via KpopStarz, she talked about the possible reunion of the girl band.

"As the agency has changed, there are practical difficulties in coordinating the schedule, but it is hopeful that the members are still active in various fields without much fuss," she said.

The girls’ contract expired in 2017 and only five members, Taeyeon, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yuri and Yoona, renewed their deals with SM Entertainment. Seohyun, Sooyoung and Tiffany are still part of the group despite leaving the music label.

With that being said, Yuri revealed they are still working and preparing for the huge Girls’ Generation comeback.

"I think we will be mature enough when we get back together as Girls' Generation. We also have high expectations because we have worked in various fields through each battle,” she explained. “So we are trying to make the comeback more concrete. It takes some time because it is difficult to coordinate the schedule, but if each person has a good idea, they share it in the group chat room."
