(G)I-DLE hit a new milestone nearly a year after releasing Nxde.

In October, the girl group dropped Nxde as part of its fifth EP, I Love. It has scored several recognitions since its release, including the K-Pop Videos: Best of 2022 from Tidal and The 10 Best Korean Music Videos of 2022 from Rolling Stone India.

(G)I-DLE Scores New Milestone With Nxde Music Video

(G)I-DLE broke its own record when the music video for Nxde beat the record set by TOMBOY.

On April 17, around 3:18 a.m. KST, Nxde music video surpassed 200 million views on YouTube. It made the track the girl group’s second music video to reach the milestone after TOMBOY.

However, it also outshined TOMBOY by reaching the mark faster, scoring the views 181 days and nine hours after its release. In comparison, the other (G)I-DLE song scored recognition after 307 days and nine hours this year.

Both tracks made (G)I-DLE the first idol group to score perfect all-kills with two songs in the same year since TWICE broke the record in 2016.

(G)I-DLE Confirms May 2023 Comeback

The new recognition occurred after Cube Entertainment confirmed that the girl group members are now preparing for a comeback. The label added that it is currently scheduled for release in May.

(G)I-DLE is currently preparing for a comeback, with the goal of a release in May,” the agency went on. “We will reveal the format of the album at a later date. We ask that you give it lots of interest.”

It will be the girl group’s first comeback after I Love in October.

Amid the preparation, Cube Entertainment delivered bad news after Yuqi contracted COVID-19 on April 14. The idol reportedly underwent a PCR test on April 13 before the group’s overseas schedule.

However, she was formally diagnosed after the positive test.

Yuqi completed her third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine before the diagnosis. After the result came out, the group halted its activities to follow the government health authorities and their guidelines.

It remains unknown whether this will affect (G)I-DLE’s comeback in May.
