Ghost Rider Actor Gabriel Luna Talks About the Future of His Character

Gabriel Luna might not be able to reprise his role as Robbie Reyes after Hulu decided to cancel Marvel's Ghost Rider, however, the actor is still pretty proud that his followers are going to remember his take on the character in ABC's Agents of SHIELD.

Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com, Luna decided to open up about Hulu pulling the rug on the highly anticipated series Marvel's Ghost Rider. Like fans, the actor was disappointed when he learned that the series wouldn't push through. He had been preparing for the show for a few years, waiting for it to be greenlit by the studio.

"I was gearing up for Ghost Rider for some time, a few years now, just on hold, waiting," Luna told the entertainment news outlet, "So I guess there's not much hope holding out. I think it's mainly, I know maybe there's still couple of pages that are ... the binding of the book is not really closed. But for me, personally, I think that, you leave it where it was."

Despite the disappointment that comes with a show that never really lifted off, Luna is still grateful that there are fans who are going to remember him for his role as Robbie Reyes. According to the actor, he and his Agents of SHIELD co-stars really put a lot of effort into the show, and he's made enough of a mark as ABC's Ghost Rider.

"We put our heart into it and I'm really happy because I think a lot of people, I'm happy that there's a whole generation of young people, [they know] Ghost Rider is Robbie Reyes," the actor continued "And I think that won't change, whether we do another show or not. I think that that's something that'll always make me very proud. So you just leave that where it is. I'm really excited to see what the future holds and what we're working on now and see what happens."

Of course, there may still be hope for Marvel's Ghost Rider. There's a whole lot of room for the series now that Disney has its own streaming site, and Marvel may want to consider adding the character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Who knows. Let's wait and see.
